<p>It is important to remember that panic attacks can begin for any number of reasons. You may have suffered from a traumatic event in you childhood for example. Of course things in later life can also cause panic attacks like car accidents or crime. But some people are just natural worriers who have never been able to cope well with stress and begin to have it manifest into panic attacks. Of course it panic attacks can also be set off by much more immediate events like car trouble, mortgage issues, or losing a job.</p>
<p>But whatever is causing your panic attacks, rest assured, there are steps that can help them. After the cause has been identified and accepted the number of panic attacks will be greatly decreased and you can start to move towards normality. Small stressful situations will no longer be a problem for you.</p>

<p>Step 1 &#8211; Identify the Trigger</p>
<p>The discovery of the root cause behind your panic attacks is the most important step. Among other things triggers for panic attacks can include certain kinds of people and animals. When you have identified what triggers your panic attacks you can then consider moving on to the next step in dealing with them.</p>
<p>Step 2 &#8211; Talk Your Way Through A Panic Attack</p>
<p>If you are seeking outside help for panic attacks you have probably already experienced one. You will probably be aware of the oncoming symptoms of a panic attack in that case. After identifying the oncoming symptoms you can then try to talk yourself through the panic attack. This can help you to remain calm while the symptoms come on, and therefore lessen the strength and length of the attack.</p>
<p>How do you &#8220;self talk&#8221;? As your panic attack ensues, you talk to yourself, saying that it is just panic attack, something you&#8217;ve been through before and dealt with. Talking also helps you breath regularly which will help calm you down. It will also be better if you try to breathe using you diaphragm.</p>
<p>Panic attacks can also be treated with other preemptive measures. One way to do this is to stop being so hard on yourself and stop hoping for a rapid resolution to your problems. If you try to keep an optimistic outlook you can actively reduce your stress levels. If you smoke, stop. It can also help to reduce your alcohol and caffeine intake.</p>

Additionally, fear is related to the specific behaviors of escape and avoidance, whereas anxiety is the result of threats that are perceived to be uncontrollable or unavoidable. When anxiety becomes excessive, it may fall under the classification of an anxiety disorder. Someone suffering from anxiety might also experience it as a sense of dread or panic. <p>Anxiety disorder affects about 15% of the American population, according to studies conducted at the Harvard Medical School. An anxiety disorder is likely present when anxiety continues beyond the time frame of the stressful event or situation. But when anxiety increases to the point of interfering with day-to-day functioning causing dread over everyday situations, anxiety has become a disabling disorder. The individual using alcohol or drugs to make stressful situations more bearable is at risk for addiction at which point there is more than one disorder to deal with. It is important that any physical or mental illness be treated before a person will respond to treatment for the anxiety disorder. Effective therapies for anxiety disorders are available, and research is uncovering new treatments that can help most people with anxiety disorders lead productive, fulfilling lives.</p>
<p>Panic</p>
<p>Panic disorder is an anxiety disorder characterized by repeated and unexpected episodes of intense fear accompanied with sometimes-severe physical symptoms. Panic attacks usually come without warning, and although the fear is generally irrational, the perception of danger is very real.</p>
<p>Panic attacks may be confused with heart attacks. A person experiencing a panic attack will often feel as if he or she is about to die or pass out. Sometimes the response is so extreme that no more than a disturbing thought causes marked feelings of anxiety, and in the worst cases a stimulus so insignificant that it cannot even be identified causes a major attack of panic. So what you are experiencing in my opinion is part of the anxiety/panic cycle.</p>
<p>Fear</p>
<p>Fear is similar to anxiety in that the emotional and physiological states are very similar experiences. One of the most common symptoms of anxiety is fear, which includes the fear of dying. You feel an intense fear when you think of dying, or you may think of it more often than normal, or can&#8217;t get it out of your mind. Students suffering from test anxiety may experience any of the following: the association of grades with personal worth, fear of embarrassment by a teacher, fear of alienation from parents or friends, time pressures, or feeling a loss of control. The fear of failing a task and being negatively evaluated for it can have a similarly negative effect on the adult. Although you may know you really have nothing to fear, your emotions seem to overpower your reason.</p>
<p>However, fear has come to imply a much wider range of feelings of anxiety and worry. They include: feelings of irritability, depression, guilt and hostility a tendency to introspection, self-criticism and negative thoughts excessive dependency on other people an inability to perform well in stressful situations such as examinations or interviews a susceptibility to phobias and irrational worry a tendency to psychosomatic illness and worries about health a decrease in one&#8217;s ability to function efficiently in life and to cope with everyday problems that can causes anxiety.</p>
<p>Conclusion</p>
<p>Another view is that anxiety is a future-oriented mood state in which one is ready or prepared to attempt to cope with upcoming negative events suggesting that it is a distinction between future events. This might indicate that anxiety is a protective mechanism designed to prevent the organism from engaging in potentially harmful behaviors.
